General description of the collection: The Charles B. Gwynn photograph collection consists of all small snapshot type photos that follow the United States (U.S.) Army career of Charles B. Gwynn from his Citizens' Military Training Camp training at Madison Barracks through his service in WWII in the Philippine Islands. There are some very good images of field artillery training during the 1920s and 1930s at various military posts: Pine Camp, New York; Fort Sill, Oklahoma; Fort Bragg, North Carolina. In the Philippines - Leyte and Mindanao - there are photos both of natives, scenery, towns and villages, military installations, units and activities of U.S. soldiers stationed in the Philippines, mostly in 1945. A few photos are of a reunion of men of the X Corps Artillery in 1989 at Jacksonville, Florida.
